Many Christians tend to consider gathering with the church more of an option on the "Christian buffet" than a central reality of their discipleship. With endless access to live stream conferences, streaming worship music, and preaching podcasts, we can get our personal spiritual needs met in a much more customized way.
So, why bother hauling yourself down the road to a place where you're often bothered by the people, put up with the music, and sometimes are unimpressed with the preaching? Can’t you just love Jesus and live for Him on your own?

Consider what the writer of Hebrews says:
Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for He who promised is faithful. And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works, not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day drawing near. (Hebrews 10:23-25)
According to the Bible, gathering with the church is not just a nice tradition Christians have had, it's vital to our remaining faithful to Jesus.
