The church attendance is usually small,
but a few are always faithful and there have been some
new people attending recently for which we are thankful.
Pray for increase in that area and especially for a
Japanese individual or couple who could come to work
with us in the ministry.

May 7—Praise the Lord for Brian and
Andrew as they graduate from Bob Jones University
-
May 3! Brian plans to continue his piano
tuning and repair job at the university and
Andrew is looking to go to China to teach English as a
ministry.
-
May 14—Rick and Becky Enterline will be
living in our home and filling in for us in Japan while
we are in the States. They will also carry on some
English classes and keep the grass cut at camp property.
Pray for their health and spiritual strength.

May 21—We are thankful for two new
students for the English classes. One is a member of
Philip’s basketball club, and the other is a 21 year old
girl who used to attend our children’s English class 10
years ago. We try to use the English classes as an
opportunity to teach the Bible. Pray for receptive
hearts.

May 28—During May and June we will be
visiting many of our supporting churches. Please pray
for safety as we travel and for wisdom as we minister
and represent the work in Japan.

June 4—We rejoice in the salvation of
the lady who operates a pet store next to the church.
Pray that she will continue to grow in the Lord and for
the salvation of her husband.

June 11—Mr. Ishikawa is a man who has
been attending church services for the past year. He has
also been very kind to help work at the camp. He has yet
to make a clear profession of salvation. We hope to
visit his two sons who are presently living in the US.

June 18—Mr. Yamazaki needs a stable job
to be able to support his family. Through this time of
uncertainly we have had regular times to meet for prayer
and read God’s Word together. He says this has been a
time of God’s working in his heart

June 25—Pray for the people of Japan to
truly seek the Lord and be open to God’s work in their
hearts. Pray especially for men to be saved and be
willing to provide leadership in the church.

July 2—If everything goes as planned,
our son Andrew is planning to leave for China in early
July, where he is to be teaching English in a
university. Pray for opportunities to present the Gospel
to those who are seeking the Truth.

July 9—We plan to leave the US on July
9, arriving back in Japan on the 10th. We always
appreciate prayers for safety and for opportunities of
witness along the way. The lady who operates the pet
store has said she would pick us up when we return from
the bus which comes from the airport.

July 16—English camp will be on 21st. of
July. Please pray for good attendance and specific
opportunities of witness for Christ.

July 23—Continue to pray for the Izu
family and their ministry in the town of Iruma. We work
closely with them and appreciate their faithfulness and
diligence in their church ministry.

July 30—Family camp is scheduled for
August 6 and 7. Pray for the speaker as he prepares and
for hearts to be receptive to God’s truth. Pray for the
ability to get the shower in the new building finished.
